Local Blueprints e-kit online

Local BizGateway Blueprint Local BizGateway Blueprint – a pilot project to demostrate ways to make the business of Local Government easier for local business through an online system for enquiries regarding business regulations and licenses. Through this pilot, small business was able to access simple, tailored information about their compliance obligations in the local, state and federal spheres.

The 5 regional portals delivered localised and topical information to small businesses, as well as access to the “GovCheck” smart enquiry tool. The pilot took place over 12 months, followed by a review.

The Local BizGateway pilot also delivered an important new service to the community, by offering the GovCheck smart enquiry tool. This online service was delivered via one of 5 regional portals, and assisted new and existing businesses to understand their government compliance requirements through a simple question-and-answer process, and then generated a checklist of licences and permits to their business type in a selected Council area.

The Local BizGateways were designed to incorporate any additional Council’s local regulation information, again with minimal resourcing impact.

A "Gateways to Government" regional engagement program was developed by the Red Tape Blueprints team and trialled throughout 7 regions of Sydney and NSW with support from DSBN. For further information, contact John Wells.
