The Red Tape Blueprints consortium of councils submitted a successful bid to the Australian Government’s Regulation Reduction Incentive Fund (RRIF) in November 2005. The bid was developed with the support of ‘Local Online Communications and Linkages’, a company of the Local Government and Shires Associations of NSW, and developed with Rockdale City Council as the lead council among the participating councils. The project commenced in March 2006.

Regulation Reduction Incentive Fund (RRIF)

RRIF is a $50 million Australian Government program under AusIndustry that aims to foster the growth potential and sustainability of small business by funding Local Government authorities to improve the regulatory environment small business is operating in. Core outcomes RRIF is seeking to achieve are minimizing the time small business spends on processes and maximizing the number of small businesses benefiting from the program.
